Aston Martin Extends Lance Stroll’s Contract for Formula 1 Campaign
In a move that will delight Aston Martin fans, the British racing team has announced that Lance Stroll will race for the squad “for 2025 and beyond.” This contract extension solidifies the Canadian driver’s position within the Formula 1 outfit, whose father Lawrence owns the team.
Stroll, who has raced for Aston Martin since 2019 when his father’s consortium purchased the assets of the then-Force India squad, has completed 112 races for the team so far. The 24-year-old has achieved a best result of third place – twice, during the 2020 Italian and Sakhir Grands Prix.
“I’m super happy to have committed to staying with the team for 2025 and beyond. It’s amazing to see how far we’ve come in the last five years; we’ve grown so much as a team and there’s still so much more to look forward to.”

While the end date of Stroll’s previous contract was unknown, this new announcement effectively extends his rolling agreement with the team. Given his family’s ownership of Aston Martin, Stroll’s future was never truly in doubt, but the move still serves to quell any speculation about his continued presence on the Formula 1 grid.
Aston Martin team principal Mike Krack echoed Stroll’s sentiments, saying, “We are delighted to confirm Lance’s future with Aston Martin. He has played a key role in building this team. His technical feedback, alongside his committed simulator work, has helped contribute to the continuous development of the car each season.”
With Stroll and his teammate, two-time Formula 1 champion Fernando Alonso, now both locked in for the 2025 campaign, Aston Martin can look forward to a period of stability and continuity as they seek to challenge the sport’s top teams.
