Dakar Debut for Moroccan Driver Souad Mouktadiri in 2025
Moroccan driver Souad Mouktadiri is set to make her highly anticipated Dakar Rally debut in 2025, becoming the first Moroccan competitor in the SSV category. Mouktadiri’s journey to the Dakar has been paved by her extensive experience in various cross-country rallies, particularly those held in her home country.
Mouktadiri has honed her skills in the Morocco Desert Challenge, the M’Hamid Express, and the Rallye du Maroc, the latter of which she has entered five times as part of the World Rally-Raid Championship. Her most recent participation in the Rallye du Maroc was in 2023.
In 2021, Mouktadiri took her first step onto the European rally scene by competing in the Andalucía Rally in Spain, a former round of the W2RC, driving a Nissan Patrol as an Open entry. The Moroccan rally star then returned to Europe in January 2023 to take part in the starting leg of the Africa Eco Race, a rally that traverses Morocco and neighboring countries before culminating in Senegal along the original Dakar Rally route. Racing a Can-Am Maverick with Frederic Villers d’Arbouet as her co-driver, Mouktadiri finished thirteenth overall and second in the T4 class.
“Thank you to those who shared the information today, very moved by your comments and messages on the announcement. I hope to live up to it and go all the way, onto the podium of Dakar Rally and raise our flag high.”
