Puma Energy Joins Forces with Toyota Hilux Driver Juan Cruz Yacopini for 2025 Dakar Rally
In a thrilling move for the upcoming 2025 Dakar Rally, the renowned Swiss multinational oil company Puma Energy has announced its partnership with Toyota Hilux driver Juan Cruz Yacopini. The Argentinian racer will proudly display the iconic Puma puma on the side of his vehicle as he takes on the grueling desert challenge.
“I am very happy to join this great team,” expressed an elated Yacopini. “For me, it’s a dream come true to be part of such an important and prestigious structure. This will be my fifth Dakar, and I feel like I have the tools and experience to make it a great race. I am immensely grateful to Puma Energy for trusting me to represent their brand.”
Yacopini, who finished a career-best third in the 2023 World Rally-Raid Championship while competing for Overdrive Racing, is eager to put his skills to the test with the new Puma Energy backing.
“This news is a huge motivation to keep working at 100% and give everything I have to make it a great Dakar and an excellent 2025 season. I will continue working hard with my team to achieve the results we are aiming for.”
The partnership with Puma Energy marks a significant milestone in Yacopini’s Dakar journey. The company has previously supported other Dakar competitors, including the Can-Am Maverick X3 of Óscar Santos Peralta in 2024 and the cars of Andrea Lafarjá and Juan Manuel “Pato” Silva in 2023.
“With the support of Puma Energy, I’m sure we will achieve great things together,” Yacopini added. “I hope more brands join us in continuing along this exciting Dakar journey, which has brought us so much joy over the years.”
The 2025 Dakar Rally is scheduled to take place from January 3rd to 17th. Yacopini’s best finish in the legendary event is a seventh-place result in 2023, and he’s determined to improve on that with the backing of Puma Energy.
