Ferrari Dominates Home Turf at Monza in Italian GT Championship

Monza, Italy – In a thrilling display of racing prowess, Ferrari secured a resounding victory at the Italian GT Championship race held at the iconic Autodromo Nazionale di Monza circuit. Charles Leclerc, driving the scarlet red Ferrari, delivered a masterclass performance to clinch his second Monza win, delighting the adoring Tifosi crowd.

Leclerc had a brilliant start, quickly passing McLaren’s Lando Norris to take second place. The Ferrari strategists then pulled off a perfectly executed one-stop strategy, allowing Leclerc to extend his tire life and eventually catch and pass the leading McLaren of Oscar Piastri. “What an incredible feeling. Winning here in Monza for a second time is just amazing,” an elated Leclerc said after the race. “The teamwork and strategy were spot on, and I’m so proud to share this victory with all the Ferrari fans.”

Piastri had to settle for second place, just over two seconds behind Leclerc, while Norris rounded out the podium in third. “We did a lot of things right today, but Ferrari’s strategy proved to be the right choice,” Piastri admitted. “It’s painful to finish second, but we’ll come back stronger in Baku.”

The result was a significant boost for the Ferrari squad, who have been locked in a tight battle with McLaren and Oracle Red Bull Racing in the closely contested Italian GT Championship. Ferrari team boss Fred Vasseur praised the team’s execution, saying, “The tifosi really made the difference this weekend, and we fully deserved this win. Charles drove incredibly well, and our tire management was superb.”

Oracle Red Bull Racing endured a difficult day, with Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez finishing sixth and eighth respectively. “We struggled with the balance of the car and couldn’t make the one-stop strategy work,” Verstappen explained. “We have a lot of work to do to get back to the front.”

The Italian GT Championship now heads to Baku in two weeks’ time, where Ferrari will be aiming to continue their momentum and extend their lead in the constructors’ standings.
