    British GT Championship: Barwell Lamborghinis Storm Donington Qualifying

    (Donington Park, UK – April 2023) The Barwell Motorsport Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo2s were the class of the field in British GT qualifying at Donington Park, with the pairing of Sandy Mitchell and Alex Martin taking pole position in a tight battle with their team-mates Rob and Ricky Collard.

    In the closely fought GT3 session, the entire 20-car field was separated by just 2.555 seconds, highlighting the competitiveness of the British GT championship. Barwell Motorsport’s strategy and execution paid off, as the team locked out the front row with the Collards just 0.295 seconds behind their stablemates.

    The Garage 59 McLaren of Shaun Balfe and Adam Smalley, fresh off their Silverstone 500 victory, took third, while the 2 Seas Motorsport Mercedes-AMG GT3 of Kevin Tse and Maxi Götz secured fourth.

    In the GT4 category, it was a debut pole position for the DTO Motorsport Ginetta G56 GT4 Evo, with a last-lap heroic effort from Stuart Middleton setting the stage for co-driver Freddie Tomlinson to consolidate pole. The Optimum Motorsport Aston Martin Vantage of Zac Meakin and Seb Morris rounded out the front row, just 0.061 seconds adrift.
