Porsche Reveals Impressive Customer Line-up for 24 Hours of Spa
As the prestigious 24 Hours of Spa, the premier endurance event in the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup, approaches, Porsche customer teams have been announcing their driver lineups. HubAuto Racing, the latest squad to reveal its plans, will field a formidable trio of Porsche works drivers in a bid to secure the German marque’s first victory at the event since 2020.
Laurens Vanthoor and Kevin Estre, who are team-mates in the Porsche Penske Motorsport LMDh 963 in the World Endurance Championship, will share HubAuto’s lone entry. They will be joined by fellow Porsche works driver Patrick Pilet, who has twice finished as the runner-up at Spa.
“Vanthoor, a two-time winner of the event in 2014 and 2020, and Estre, the 2019 champion, will be aiming to continue Porsche’s success at the challenging Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps on June 29-30.”
Elsewhere, DTM champion Thomas Preining will make his Spa 24 Hours debut with the China-based Phantom Global Racing squad, which has a technical partnership with Timo Bernhard’s Team 75. Preining, who finished fifth at the event last year, will be joined by Jaguar Formula E reserve Joel Eriksson and Porsche specialist Jaxon Evans.
Additionally, the Lamborghini DTM squad SSR Performance has returned to the Porsche fold, partnering with long-time Porsche outfit Herberth Motorsport. The team will field a trio of Porsche works drivers โ Frederic Makowiecki, Matt Campbell, and Mathieu Jaminet โ all of whom are seeking their first-ever victory at the iconic endurance race.
The impressive array of Porsche talent on display at the 24 Hours of Spa underscores the German manufacturer’s continued commitment to customer racing and its desire to reclaim the top step of the podium at this prestigious event.
