Aston Martin Seeks Redemption at Home Grand Prix
Silverstone, UK – The Aston Martin Formula 1 team is gearing up for a crucial home race at the British Grand Prix this weekend, as they aim to bounce back from a disappointing run of results.
Team Principal Mike Krack has acknowledged the squad’s struggles in recent races, stating that he “couldn’t agree more” with driver Fernando Alonso’s call for the team to “talk less and deliver more” on the track.
Alonso has been largely positive about Aston Martin’s progress this season, but after failing to score points at the Spanish and Austrian Grands Prix, the Spaniard has urged the team to focus on performance rather than rhetoric.
“If you then do not deliver the performance that you promised, then obviously they are not happy. And this is, I think, what Fernando has referred to. I cannot agree more with him,” Krack said ahead of the Austrian race.
Sadly for Aston Martin and Alonso, they were unable to turn things around in Austria, with both drivers missing out on points in the Sprint race and the Grand Prix. The team now sits fifth in the Constructors’ standings, 28 points ahead of sixth-placed Red Bull but 138 behind fourth-placed Mercedes.
With the team’s headquarters located next to the Silverstone circuit, the British Grand Prix holds extra significance for Aston Martin. Alonso has expressed his optimism that the squad can “turn things around” at their home event.
“Silverstone is our home grand prix,” the two-time World Champion said. “It cannot be any other home grand prix than Silverstone for Aston Martin. So we really need to perform better there.”
The Aston Martin Formula 1 team will be looking to silence their critics and deliver a strong performance in front of their home fans at the British Grand Prix this weekend.
