Exciting Dakar News: Indian Rally Racer Jatin Jain Set to Make Debut in 2025
In a major milestone for Indian motorsports, Jatin Jain has been accepted to make his debut at the prestigious Dakar Rally in 2025. This announcement comes after Jain’s impressive performances in the 2024 World Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC) season, where he has competed in every round apart from the Dakar Rally.
Jain’s journey to the Dakar began when he made his W2RC debut at the 2023 Sonora Rally, where he finished 18th in the National Enduro class and 6th in the Road to Dakar category. This strong showing earned him the attention of the Amaury Sport Organisation, the organizers of the Dakar Rally, who have now granted him the opportunity to take part in the iconic event.
“Super stoked to start my run towards DAKAR 2025 with the blessings of Vamcy Merla sir. With his support, I’m slowly inching towards my dream to stand at the start line of the ultimate challenge for any rally raid pilot.”

Throughout the 2024 W2RC season, Jain has continued to impress, competing in all three non-Dakar rounds so far. Despite facing setbacks, such as a rock damage to his bike at the Desafío Ruta 40 in Argentina, Jain’s determination and skill have not gone unnoticed. His consistent performances have ultimately led to his acceptance for the 2025 Dakar Rally.
The 2025 Dakar Rally, which will take place from January 3rd to 17th, will mark Jain’s debut in the world’s most challenging rally-raid event. He will be backed by Indian businessman Vamcy Merla, who oversees Maitri Estates and is the promoter of the Otago Rally’s Asia-Pacific Rally Championship Pacific Cup.
Jain, who has previously competed in supercross and was a two-time FMSCI National Rally Group 1A Champion in 2018 and 2019, is eagerly anticipating his Dakar debut. As Jatin Jain prepares for this milestone, the Indian motorsports community eagerly awaits his performance on the world stage, representing a significant step forward for the growth of Indian rally-raid motorsports.
