Exciting News in the World of IndyCar: AJ Foyt Racing Secures Rising Star David Malukas for 2025 Season

(Dakar, GT, or British GT News) – In a surprising move within the IndyCar racing landscape, AJ Foyt Racing has announced the signing of up-and-coming driver David Malukas to a multi-year deal, set to commence in the 2025 season.

Malukas, who will be only 23 years old at the start of the 2025 campaign, will pilot one of AJ Foyt Racing’s Chevrolet-powered entries, though the specific car number and his teammate have yet to be confirmed.

“I am extremely excited to have the opportunity to join AJ Foyt Racing,” Malukas expressed. “The team has performed very well this season, and I can’t wait to get to work with them and immerse myself in that environment.”

The young driver, hailing from Chicago with Lithuanian heritage, started the 2023 IndyCar season with Arrow McLaren, having signed a multi-year contract the previous September. However, a mountain bike accident that resulted in torn ligaments in his left wrist sidelined him for the opening portion of the year.

After being released by Arrow McLaren in late April, Malukas joined Meyer Shank Racing, where he has demonstrated impressive pace, qualifying in the top 12 in four of his last five races and securing a sixth-place finish on the Streets of Toronto.

“David will be a great addition to AJ Foyt Racing,” said the team’s president, Larry Foyt. “He is a fierce competitor who possesses a great deal of natural talent, and I think he will be a super fit with our engineers and mechanics as we continue to ascend the IndyCar rankings.”

The 2025 season will mark a new chapter for Malukas, who is eager to achieve strong results with the legendary AJ Foyt Racing team. The team’s recent alliance with Team Penske has already proven beneficial, and Malukas is confident that with the right team dynamic, the results will follow.

“For me, the 2024 season was very chaotic and did not go to plan, so I am looking forward to a new beginning,” Malukas said. “I am mostly looking forward to being a part of such a special team, and I want to be sure that we build the right environment, not just for myself, but for the mechanics, engineers and everyone else who makes this all possible.”

As the IndyCar community eagerly awaits the 2025 season, this signing of David Malukas to AJ Foyt Racing promises to be an exciting development in the series’ future.
