In a move that has the motorsports world buzzing, Ford has unveiled its formidable driver lineup for the prestigious Dakar Rally in Saudi Arabia next year. Legendary racers Carlos Sainz Sr. and Nani Roma will be two of the four Ford representatives competing in the grueling off-road event, with the American automaker poised to make a strong push for Dakar glory in 2024.

The motorsport world has lost a true champion and visionary, Sylvio de Barros, a renowned Brazilian entrepreneur and accomplished off-road racer, who tragically passed away at the age of 57 during a visit to a waterfall in Jardinópolis, Brazil. Barros had an impressive racing career, competing and winning in both pavement and off-road disciplines, including the prestigious Dakar Rally, where he made his debut in 2007 and later returned in 2017, finishing 18th overall.

Dacia’s new Sandrider off-road racer has entered its intensive testing phase, with the factory lineup of Nasser Al-Attiyah, Cristina Gutiérrez, and Sébastien Loeb driving and developing the car at various locations in the UK, Wales, and France. The team is focused on meticulously fine-tuning the Sandrider’s performance ahead of its competition debut at the Rallye du Maroc in October and the highly anticipated 2024 Dakar Rally.
